Saint Dizier Leyrenne
The local village, has two bars/restaurants and all the amenities (pharmacy, doctor, baker, small supermarket, hair dresser...), and a ten hectares fishing lake.

Bourganeuf
A medieval town (10 kms), has more shops, a bigger supermarket, a few restaurants, a cinema. The famous "tour Zizim" (15th century), the church and all the ancient buildings make it a lovely atmospheric and historic town.

Aubusson
Is a beautiful medieval town, steeped in history and famous for its tapestries and carpets. From the richness of the Middle Ages to the hanging tapestry created for the Olympics in 2000, the wonderful know-how of the Aubusson tapestry weavers has transcended through time since the 6th century.
Aubusson is situated along the valley of the Creuse River. The town is charming with many architectural features from the Middle Ages including strange turrets, carved windows and doorways.
The "Maison du Tapissier" (closed on a Tuesday) houses permanent and temporary exhibitions in its spacious, well-lit halls, which trace the history of tapestry. Also worth a visit are the 'Vieux Tapissier', a 15th Century house with weavers workshops and tapestry making demonstrations, the ruined fortified château, the 13th Century church of Sainte Croix, the clock tower, and the old bridge, Le Pont de la Terrade
Modern day Aubusson has restaurants, museums, theatre, sport, cinema and shops. It is also famous for the markets held every Saturday morning. Dining out is always a great pleasure and the area is justifiably renowned for its specialities of Limousin beef, Foie Gras, Chestnuts, Champignons and Clafoutis

Parc Bellevue
Close to limoges, Parc Bellevue is a large adventure park with water slides, go-karts and many other amusements. Absolutely ideal for young children.

Chateau de Rochechouart
15th Century chateau which also houses the departments Centre of Contemporary Art. The chateau was built on the edge of a 20km crater formed by a meteorite 160 million years ago.

The Aquarium, Limoges
Close to the Town Hall in Limoges the aquarium has 300 different species and more than 2500 fish in an area of over 1000 square metres.

Distillery Museum – Limoges
The last, fully operating distillery in Limoges. For two centuries Limoges was an important centre for the production of local liquors from Cognac, Armagnac and Rum – The museum is well worth a visit!

Oradour sur Glane – Centre de la Memoire
A few kilometres north of Limoges is the village of Oradour sur Glane, totally destroyed by the Nazi’s in the Second World War, 642 men, woman and children massacred by a German Panzer Division. Walking around the centre is a unique and humbling experience. Everyone should visit the centre at least once during his or her lifetime!
